What a 3G Disposable Actually Gets You Compared to a 1G

Disposable vape formats come in multiple oil capacities, and the difference between a 1g and 3g device is not simply three times the sessions. Exhale Wellness disposables in larger formats involve hardware differences, battery sizing decisions, and practical considerations. These differences affect how the device performs across its full capacity. Buying a 3g device without knowing what those differences are produces expectations that the format may not meet.

    Oil capacity and session count

A 1g disposable contains approximately 1000mg of oil. A 3g disposable contains approximately 3000mg. Session count depends entirely on draw length and frequency rather than oil weight alone. Short draws on a 1g device across infrequent sessions can extend the device life considerably past what heavy daily use produces. The same oil weight delivers different session counts to different users based on consumption patterns rather than hardware difference.

If you use a 3G device under the same conditions as a 1G device, it will provide approximately three times as many sessions before the oil depletes as compared to a 1G device. There is no difference between the two formats as long as the draw behaviour and frequency remain the same across both.

    Battery sizing in larger devices

    · Larger oil capacity requires a larger battery to maintain consistent heating performance across the full oil volume.

    · A 3g disposable battery must sustain reliable output from the first draw to the last across a longer depletion period.

    · Battery sizing mismatches in lower-quality large-format devices produce weak draws in the final third of the oil as battery output diminishes.

    · Devices with USB charging capability allow battery recharge during use and address this variable regardless of oil capacity.

    Cost per gram comparison

3g disposables carry a higher upfront cost than 1g formats from the same brand. Per-gram cost typically runs lower in the larger format rather than scaling linearly with oil volume. The savings per gram reflect manufacturing economics rather than any quality reduction in the larger device. Buyers who consume regularly enough to deplete a 3g device before oil degradation occurs realise the per-gram saving. Buyers who consume infrequently may find that oil quality degrades before the device is depleted, regardless of format size.

    Practical handling differences

A 3g disposable device is physically larger in size than a 1g disposable device. With the increase in device size, pocket carrying becomes less practical as the device becomes larger. The dimensions of a 1g device are the same as those of a standard pocket without the need to adjust it. Depending on the size and shape of the 3g device, it may be necessary to carry a bag or a dedicated carry case for the device. Due to the same reason, the level of discretion in public settings differs between the two formats.

Oil degradation timelines apply to both formats equally. THCA and terpene content in the oil degrade with heat and light exposure, regardless of how much oil remains in the device. A 3g device depleted slowly over several months under poor storage conditions delivers degraded oil in the later sessions, regardless of how well the hardware performs.
